We believe in treating you as family, or even how we would want to be treated ourselves. We know we would want to have any service provider listen to what we perceive are our concerns and then, after a complete evaluation of our needs, talk with us and, together, plan our treatment. We would not want a “cookie cutter” approach to our health needs. To that end, we work hand-in-hand with our patients, creating a bond of teamwork to bring about your dental health goals.
Dr. Joel Hamilton, DDS
As a Bloomsburg native, Dr. Joel’s childhood was spent building forts in the woods, four-wheeling, playing baseball, and finding the best swimming holes in Fishing Creek.
His teen years were full of hard work at Rohrbach’s Farm Market in Catawissa where he picked peaches, pumpkins, apples and sweet corn, and indulged his love of being in the fresh air. His highly competitive streak found an outlet in team sports, and Dr. Joel’s 6’8” frame found a niche as the center of Bloomsburg Christian School, Columbia County Christian School (Class of 2000), and Houghton College’s (Class of 2004) basketball teams.
His undergraduate degree was obtained from Houghton College in Biology.
Having spent a year as a chairside dental assistant for Dr. David Hamilton, Dr. Joel went on to pursue his own dental education, receiving his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Joel graduated with honors, and eager to return to the Bloomsburg area, joined his father’s solo dental practice on Market Street in Bloomsburg in 2009. Together, Dr. David Hamilton and Dr. Joel formed Hamilton Dental Care in 2014.
Dr. Joel values continuing education as a vital part of his career development. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry, and has completed intensive training courses in dental implant surgery.
Hamilton Dental Care quickly outgrew the re-modeled Victorian building that Dr. David had practiced in since the 1980’s, so Dr. David and Dr. Joel built a new facility across town on Audubon Court to continue serving patients in Bloomsburg and the surrounding areas.
Dr. Joel and his wife Anna have three daughters. When they aren’t busy flossing their teeth, they enjoy the outdoors, biking, laughing, visiting Knoebel’s, and time spent as a family re-visiting those swimming holes Dr. Joel found as a child.
Leigh Jacopetti-Kondraski, DMD
Dr. Leigh Jacopetti joined Hamilton Dental Care in July 2018.
While not originally from Bloomsburg, Dr. Leigh believes the area is to credit for her family roots–her mother attended Bloomsburg University, and her mother and father met in Bloomsburg nearly 40 years ago. Her father also worked in Berwick throughout his career. Dr. Leigh has enjoyed being able to practice in the area and give back to the community.
Dr. Leigh was born and raised in the Wyoming Valley and is a graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area High School. From a very young age, she knew that she wanted to become a dentist and even dressed up as a toothbrush for Halloween in fourth grade. Following high school, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Pre-Dental at King’s College where she graduated summa cum laude.
During her undergraduate studies, she completed an externship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She then attended dental school at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry where she graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into various honor societies. Upon graduation, she practiced away from home for a few years before moving back to northeast PA in 2013 in order to practice closer to family.
Dr. Leigh has dedicated countless hours to various community service projects and organizations and strives to carry out her passion for helping others in both her dental career and free time.

She has served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry since 2016. Dr. Leigh credits this organization for helping significantly in her career development, as the organization is for general dentists who want to educate themselves beyond what is required in order to best serve the needs of their patients.
Outside of dentistry, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, loves trying new restaurants with her husband, Eddy, looks forward to every cup of coffee, and appreciates a good workout as well as a good book.
