KöR Whitening

Bloomsburg and Danville PA

Everyone develops stains on their teeth, although some teeth staining can appear worse for some people. Foods and beverages that we consume are the main culprits for dingy, yellowing teeth, as is neglecting your oral hygiene and smoking or using tobacco. Even so, teeth naturally become discolored due to aging and could be a side effect of certain medications or medical treatments. The good news is that these stains can be treated with KöR teeth whitening in Bloomsburg. While store-bought teeth whitening products are touted as a cheaper way to achieve bright white teeth, many users find little change in the color of their teeth and ultimately end up wasting their money for subpar results. Instead, learn how KöR teeth whitening can make a dramatic difference in your smile.

What is the KöR teeth Whitening system?

KöR teeth whitening was developed by a dentist and is designed to whiten your teeth as the whitening gel releases oxygen, dissolving stain molecules. This whitening system offers four case levels: home, max, ultra, and ultra-T. Our cosmetic dentist can help you determine which case level is appropriate for you. The whitening gel comes in 5mL syringes that should be stored in a cool area or your refrigerator. At Hamilton Dental Care, we offer KöR whitening in-office, and take-home custom trays to touch up your smile between office visits.

How does the KöR system work?

Using a proprietary tri-barrel delivery system, the whitening agents are separated until use so that when combined, the formulation is exceptionally effective and sophisticated. The gel is heat sensitive. Therefore, store your syringes in the refrigerator when not in use, and avoid leaving the gel in your car or where it will be exposed to heat.

How to use KöR Whitening

The night whitening option is worn while sleeping. If worn for at least 14 consecutive nights, you will see dramatic results.

• If using the nighttime whitening system, begin by brushing and flossing your teeth.

• Place the desensitizing gel in all four corners of your mouth (upper left and right sides, and lower left and right sides).

• Apply the whitening gel to the trays by placing a small dab into each tooth impression on the tray.

• Insert the trays into your mouth, securing them over your teeth.

• Wear your trays all night or while you sleep.

• Remove the trays when you wake up, rinse them out, and store the trays in the case that we provided you.

• Brush and floss your teeth.

• Apply the desensitizing gel again.

• You are now able to eat and drink as usual.

It is advised that you insert your trays right before going to sleep. Not while watching TV or reading because the mouth naturally salivates more while awake, which could reduce the effectiveness of the whitening gel.

For daytime whitening, follow the same steps outlined above, except wear your trays during the day for no more than 30-60 minutes or as directed by the dentist.

Will KöR cause sensitive teeth or gums?

It is unlikely that KöR teeth whitening will cause teeth sensitivity, unlike store-bought whitening products. You can apply the desensitizing gel in the morning and evening for two days and every day during your treatment to significantly reduce the chance of experiencing tooth sensitivity. KöR teeth whitening is known as one of the gentlest whitening agents in terms of causing little to no tooth sensitivity. But if you experience any discomfort or zings of pain during or after treatment, contact the dentist for guidance.

Can patients with fillings, veneers, or crowns use KöR?

This whitening system is safe to use on teeth that have restorations like crowns, bridges, fillings, veneers, cosmetic bonding, and implants. However, please know that restorations such as these cannot be whitened. The gel will only alter the shade of your natural teeth. Therefore, if you are in need of any restorations, we recommend that you whiten your teeth first so that your restoration can be chosen in the whitest shade possible to match your surrounding teeth.

Who should not use KöR?

KöR teeth whitening is safe for most patients. However, you should not use KöR if you are pregnant or under the age of 12.
